God's Surprising Wonders: Association of Presbyterian Church Educators Annual Event

God’s Surprising Wonders
February 1-4, 2012
Grand Rapids, Michigan


This annual gathering of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators and pastors is a wonderful opportunity for seminarians to see the passion and commitment of the church to Religious Education. This conference includes plenary presentations, a variety of workshop opportunities, resource displays, and a lunch gathering of McCormick alumni.  This years leadership includes John Bell and children’s author, Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso.  If you are interested in going, you can go to APCEnet.org and get the publicity booklet.   


Cost for this Conference is $330, plus $33.00 membership fee for one year. 


There are a limited number of scholarships available to cover this fee. If you want to apply for one of the scholarships, please complete the conference registration worksheet available on the website and leave it with in the box outside Lib Caldwell’s office.  so that she can write a reference letter for you.  The application deadline for scholarships is November 1, 2011


This is a great year to take advantage of this event since it is within driving distance of Chicago.  If you have questions, contact Lib.  Scholarships pay for the registration and membership fees.  You are responsible for travel and hotel.  Scholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis so if you would like to go, return your conference registration to Lib asap!


The Association of Presbyterian Church Educators has established the Val Murphy Scholarship. Up to two scholarships are awarded each year, providing a maximum of $1,000 each. This award is intended to assist deserving persons with lodging, meals, registration and travel for the Annual Event.  First consideration is given to racial ethnic persons working in the field of Christian education who have a focus in Christian education in their degree program.  Second consideration is given to Christian educators in the field and third consideration is given to theological education students with an interest in Christian education.  Application forms for the Murphy scholarship are available at www.apcenet.org
