Deacon Prayer for the Week

Creator God,

In all that you do, you are amazing! 

We thank you for the gift of life,

And all of the adventures that it entails,

And when we feel alone and burdened,

May we find comfort in knowing you are watching over us.

Gracious God,

Your generosity is overwhelming!

We aspire to be generous,

To care for those who are suffering with the injustice of today,

For those who are poor, sick, enslaved, and imprisoned,

To express our concern for those who are struggling,

For those who are faced with divorce, financial burdens, and pressures of society,

We desire to be a witness of our faith in you dear Lord,

Sharing the Good News,

And to live a life that is pleasing to you.

Merciful God,

Your forgiveness is incredible!

We come to you with our shortcomings,

Knowing that we are not worthy of your grace,

Yet, your mercy continues to pour out upon us,

And we express our gratitude for your forgiveness, 

May we be living examples of your mercy and forgiveness,

In order to live into the commandment of loving one another just as you have loved us.

For all that you have done and continue to do,

We give thanks to you!
