a week that focuses on LGBTQ concerns and faith communities!
As in previous years, each day has something for you to learn, do, and participate in - to SPEAK.
In the midst of this season's busyness, please plan to attend as much as you can -

SPEAK WEEK EVENTS
Monday, 4/16 - SPEAK UPON
Panel discussion on Pastoral Care with LGBTQ youth - 4:00pm - 5:30pm - Buchanan Lounge (snacks provided by Acts 10:15)
Tuesday, 4/17 - SPEAK NOT
Sodom and Sodomy? Reexamining Old Testament Perspectives on Sexuality with Ted Hiebert - 12noon - 12:30pm - Buchanan Lounge
Opening Liturgy for the Day of Silence follows immediately after (pizza provided by Acts 10:15, potluck for sides).
This will begin the 24 hour period of silence for those choosing to participate in the Day of Silence. The Day of Silence recognizes the forced silencing of LGBTQ persons. During this day, there are roles for both silent and nonsilent allies as well as for speaking LGBTQ persons.
For those who would like to participate, please pick up your ribbons during the liturgy or contact Sarah Jones (sarahjones@go.mccormick.edu) beforehand if you cannot make it. For more information on the Day of Silence, please ask one of us or check out http://dayofsilence.org/
We observe the Day of Silence in our community by opening space for our LGBTQ family and friends whose voices are silenced in our communities to speak out. Allies may choose to observe a 24 hour period of silence to stand in solidarity with those who have been silenced, or if they are unable to be silent, may show a visual sign of support and solidarity during this period.
Wednesday, 4/18 - SPEAK OUT
Closing Litany for Day of Silence at Community Worship - 12:15pm - Common Room. The silence will be broken during Community Worship.
Thursday, 4/19 - SPEAK TOGETHER
Community Art Project - 2pm - 3:30pm - Ender Lobby

Friday, 4/20 - SPEAK WITH
Cafe Pride meal in Lakeview
