“Crossroads – One Girl's Tragedy becomes another”: A musical dance production presented by The Sammy Dyer Performance Arts Program located at the Gary Comer Youth Center (7200 S Ingleside, Chicago). A delightful musical dance production featuring: Drama, Tumbling, Tap, Modern and Jazz dancing from the Sammy Dyer School of the Theatre Performing Arts Program. Free tickets are available – first come, first served with International students as a priority. Drivers are needed to help car pool (mileage will be reimbursed if you help with car pooling). Zoolights at the Lincoln Park Zoo: Holiday entertainment, family activities and of course, animals. Admission is free! Residence Life will provide sub sandwiches, chips and non-alcohol drinks. We plan to meet in the lobby at 1400 bldg at 3:45PM; leaving promptly at 4:00PM. Drivers are needed to help car pool (mileage and parking fees will be reimbursed if you help with car pooling). Art Institute of Chicago: It’s not the holidays in Chicago without a trip to the Art Institute! From beloved tradition like the Holly Days to new favorites like the decorated Thorne Miniature Rooms are decked with festive finery. And we can visit the picture book exhibition “Animals Around the World”, create a paper animal sculpture and enjoy an interactive family gallery walk. Inside the Regenstein Center, a 10,000-square-foot exhibition of miniature trains winds over bridges, under trestles, past waterfalls, and through more than 80 mini-replicas of Chicago's favorite landmarks. On select dates (see website) you can have breakfast or supper with Santa, hot chocolate with Mrs. Claus, or a Hanukkah dinner and concert. (Closed Christmas Day.)
Millennium Park Ice Skating
December 1, 2011-March 14, 2012 (weather permitting)
Millennium Park McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, Chicago. Located on Michigan Avenue between Washington and Madison Streets, the Millennium Park Ice Rink draws more than 100,000 skater annually. The rink is open to the public every day of the week and skating is free. Skate rentals are available.
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light

Museum of Science & Industry, 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive, Chicago: The Museum halls will be decked, holiday singers and dancers will fuel the festivities, and the sparkle of dozens of decorated trees will greet you at this year’s Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. The Museum’s grand tree takes center stage in the Rotunda, while more than 50 trees beautifully decorated by members of Chicago’s ethnic communities to represent global cultures adorn the Museum's Main Level.

City Hall Holiday Concert Series

City Hall Lobby, 121 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago: Get into the holiday spirit while listening to the classics sung by children's choirs from throughout the city. The City Hall Holiday Concerts are held every weekday from noon to 1 pm. The concerts take place in the west end of the City Hall lobby near the LaSalle Street entrance. The concert series truly exhibits the talents of children from all over Chicago and warms the hearts of the audience. Admission is free
Winter Wonderland Festival
December 2, 2011-January 8, 2012
A child’s holiday dream-come true! Festival hall is transformed into a winter wonderland. Ice skating rink, rides, games, craft corner, musical carousel, create a cookie, etc. General Admission is free. Activity Wristband purchase is required to participate in rides and attractions.
