Book of Order Revision
An emergency vote to revise the Book of Order took place last night. Why was it revised? Well, reports say, there had been a swell of support for revision since the release of The Lorax into theaters a few weeks ago. One Presbyterian stated "After seeing the film it struck me that The Lorax is what we are missing in the Book of Order." Another Presbyterian stated "Barbaloots are currently completely absent from the Book of Order and we did what we had to in order to rectify the situation." But, what will happen to my favorite section of the Book of Order? There is no need to fret, because Dr. Seuss' classic is not going to be replacing anything and will be tacked on after the Rules of Discipline. Was this change made too quickly? Was this decision made without adequate time in committee? That is up for debate. But, I think we should all be able to agree that this will be a colorful addition to the Book of Order.
