Funding for therapy available from McCormick

Did you know that millions of people see a therapist every year, for issues ranging from relational or marital problems, stressors at work or school, problems with anger or grief, feelings of hopelessness, guilt, loneliness, or a loss of purpose and meaning in life, to name just a few?
Did you also know that McCormick Seminary now has an agreement with the Claret Center here in Hyde Park where Seminary students can consult with a professional counselor for 10 sessions, paid for by the Seminary?
If you are facing a crisis that is proving too difficult for you to manage, it is important that you know two things: First, you are not alone. Many of us find ourselves at this juncture at various points in our lives.  Second, there is help available for you. Take stock of all available resources and make an effort to reach out in whatever ways are appropriate to you.
If the safety and confidentiality of a professional therapist feels appropriate, you may want to contact Dean Christine Vogel.   She will make arrangements with the intake counselor at Claret who will call you to schedule an appointment and help you find the right therapist for your needs.
Remember: feeling overwhelmed or overburdened is not a sign of your failings, it is a sign of your humanity. Admitting your weakness is the first step to spiritual vitality. And seeking the help you need in order to be whole and effective in your calling signals your Biblical commitment to loving and caring for others.
